Sustainability
At SALSA, we are always committed to adopting sustainable practices, with the aim of minimizing environmental impact and promoting conscious beachwear. Here are some of the initiatives we are implementing:
Biodegradable recycled paper tags: aware of the importance of preserving our natural resources, we chose to use tags made from biodegradable recycled paper. This way, we ensure that even the small details of our pieces are aligned with our sustainability values.
Juta thread: we replaced the plastic seal with Juta thread for our tags, as it is a natural and renewable fiber. Juta is known for its durability and low environmental impact, complementing our search for more rustic and sustainable materials. Furthermore, its production is part of a cooperative of riverside populations in the state of Amazonas, in addition to being a 100% Brazilian product.
100% digital printing: we print directly on the fabric, without the need to produce plates or screens, reducing water and energy consumption.
Mirror printing: in order to reduce textile waste, we chose to use the duplicate printing method on our fabrics. This allows us to make better use of materials, resulting in pieces with unique and exclusive prints, some of which are even collectible. With this technique, we reduce fabric waste by 25%.
Exclusivity and limited replacement: SALSA is an exclusive brand, we value the uniqueness of our pieces. Many of them are unique and are not produced on a large scale, which helps to reduce textile waste, in addition to increasing their value.
We recognize that there is still a lot to be done and improved on this sustainable journey, but we believe that small actions can generate big impacts. We are committed to continually improving our production methods and seeking increasingly sustainable alternatives.
Join us on this journey towards a more conscious and sustainable future in fashion. Together we can make the difference! #WeAreSalsa
